“Science & Society: Parkinson’s Disease” is the title of the first video released by EBC on a new online communication with the goal of producing content that could cover some of our key messages and tackle complex issues such as brain disorders and their diagnosis.
One of EBC’s key drivers is to raise awareness of brain disorders and for those living with these conditions. For this reason, we would like to build a stronger voice for basic neuroscience and the research that goes on “behind the scenes” to learn more about the underlying causes for different brain disorders and their treatments, as well as the research that is conducted to gain insight on the mechanisms behind the disease.
This first video in the series explores Parkinson’s disease, a complex, progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement.
“Science & Society” videos are supported by experts in the chosen field, the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and other partners to help build understanding of the ongoing basic research happening behind the scenes and how this research is contributing to not only understanding the underlying mechanisms but also how it is making an impact on the lives of the people living with the diseases, through treatment innovation and more.
